And the moment you've been waiting for...

This morning was the long awaited ultrasound.  And guess what??!!??  It's twins!  Babies had heart rates of 126 and 130.  Looking good and daddy is thrilled!

Waiting again..

Our numbers looked awesome again!  Beta at 22dp5dt was 28,147; estrogen 776; progesterone 247.96.

Our first ultrasound is next Tuesday, October 8th at 11:30am!!  Time to see how many babies we have baking!

More great numbers!

Today was our second beta. My hcg was 2925!  They wanted the number to double from Mondays draw and it did plus more!  Now a long 7 day wait til our next draw. Then, if the numbers continue to look good, we get scheduled for an ultrasound to see how many of these babies decided to hang out!

We have numbers!

So, our beta at 13dp5dt was 1351!!!  Now the number game is not an exact science.  Every surro looks at the numbers of other surros they know and tries to figure out how many babies have nestled in for the long winter's nap.  Looking at numbers, it looks at though we may have twins snuggled in!

We have another beta scheduled for Wednesday and that may give us more inexact scientifically evidence of how many babies stuck around.  You can bet that every surro analyzes doubling time to again get to the ultimate answer of "how many babies" and I am no different.

So until tomorrow, boys and girls...

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

Well, everything is going as planned!  Positive home tests every morning with the lines getting darker. Great sign!!  Can't wait until our first beta on Monday morning!

How about this..

Maybe this is easier to read!

OMG!!

So, everyone tells you that after a 5 day transfer, you won't get a positive until at least 5dp. Of course, impatient me had to start testing at 3dp. And was negative. And at 4dp. And was negative.

But look at what time morning brought!!  At 5.5dp5dt...
It's a second line!!  A faint line, but a line!!

Today is the day!

That's right, boys and girls!  Today is the magic day!!  It's Transfer Day!  This morning at 9:46am, we finished transferring 3 (that's right - three!) blasts to my fluffy uterus. Now back to the hotel for some bedrest. Hoping that 1 or 2 of these babies will decide I'm awesome enough to hang out with for the next 9 months ;)

When will we know??  My blood pregnancy test is scheduled for Monday, September 23rd.  But you bet I'm start using some of those home tests I have before then!

Great news!

Great news, boys and girls!  The babies are baking very well in their home in the lab!  As of this morning, we had three 6 celled and nine 8 celled babies growing very well.  So, what does that mean??  It means we are doing a 5 day transfer!

That gives me 2 days to wreck havoc in Pasadena before we move those babies to me to bake :)

It's about that time!

So long Ohio!  Heading out to sunny Pasadena. Hopefully I'll be bringing back a souvenir ;)

Today is the first day of this journey!

Today is it. Egg retrieval day. The day that starts everything off. Yippee!  Lets get this baby making started!

Tuesday, September 3, 2013

Yeah! The waiting is coming to an end!

So, my wonderful nurse, Grace, just called.  We have definite dates!  Egg retrieval is set for Thursday.  So, a 3 day transfer would happen on Sunday the 8th or a 5 day would happen on Tuesday the 10th.  Yeah for baby making!!

More waiting...

So, I just got a call from the clinic to update me on the donor. At this point, she's still nowhere near ready. She is coming back on Tuesday for another appointment. So, the very earliest she would have her retrieval would be Friday the 6th, although it is looking like it may be a few days after that.

So, we wait until Tuesdays update...

Grrrrrrr.........

OK.  So after no news from HRC from Monday, I just found out that the ED did not go to her appointment yesterday.  She just didn't show up.  She did randomly show up this morning to be checked and she is nowhere near ready.  So instead of egg retrieval on Sunday, as planned, she has another monitoring appointment on Sunday.  Hopefully she will be ready to go by mid to late next week.

OK.  So this has been hell with work to try to get this arranged.  And now, 30 minutes before the end of the day before a holiday weekend, I am scrambling to get everything arranged for new dates that I can only guess at.  Work is going to love me (sense the sarcasm).

Trying to contain my severe anger, disappointment, frustration, and annoyance.

Donor looking good!

And tonight the update from HRC. Donor looked good at today's appointment. So now we wait...   Again...  Until her next appointment...

Getting excited!!

Last monitoring appointment was this morning. Lining looks awesome - 12 with a triple stripe. Estrogen levels are through the roof. Tentatively, I fly out in 8 days. I wonder how our donor is doing, though......

Friday, August 23, 2013

It's the weekend!

What's the best way to start the weekend?  How about with a massive headache and super waves of nausea??!!??  Yeah for estrogen!!

Monday, August 19, 2013

Well, another monitoring appointment is in the books!  Lining looks great measuring 10 with a triple stripe already forming after only a week on meds!  One more appointment next Monday, then waiting on egg donor to see how she is progressing.  More waiting.....

Waiting, waiting, waiting...

OK, so here we wait again.  Waiting, waiting, waiting.  That’s all I seem to do!

Let me start from the beginning.  5 years ago, I was a surrogate for a wonderful couple, W & M.  I carried Marie for them and she became their world.  So, 2 years ago, I decided I wanted to help someone else have their munchkin.  In May 2012, I met M.  And we have a match, ladies and gentleman!  It took 11 months before we were ready to try to make this baby thing happen.  And it was a fail.

So here we wait.  Ready to try again.  I started my meds a week ago. Pills three times a day and an injection every 3 days. I go for another monitoring appt tomorrow. The Monday ultrasound and lab work is something I find fun. Can I beat my numbers from last week??  As long as the numbers go up as planned and our donor looks good, I will fly to Passdena on September 3 so we can give this another try.

And so we sit.  And wait.  As patiently as this impatient girl can...............

How did this all come to be?

I created this page to tell a story.  A fun story about a girl and a guy.  But it's not that kind of story...  Here's where things get interesting..

My name is Elizabeth.  I live in Ohio.  Boring old Ohio.  I have a hubby, 4 lovely kids (who are growing up way too fast), and a dog.

His name is M.  He lives in San Fran.  M wants a baby.  And that's how our story begins, boys and girls......
